VACUUM CLEANING AND EXOTIC BIRDS | Nick Modrzewski & Nabilah Nordin | February 10 - March 11


Fort Delta is pleased to present VACUUM CLEANING AND EXOTIC BIRDS a new exhibition of work by Nick Modrzewski and Nabilah Nordin. This is the first time the duo have presented a collaborative exhibition at Fort Delta. Both artists have previously exhibited with the gallery in group and solo exhibitions including Under One Roof  in 2014 and the smell of an oily rag in 2015.  An opening reception for VACUUM CLEANING AND EXOTIC BIRDS will be held on Friday February 10 from 6.00 – 8.00pm.

Nick Modrzewski holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Victorian College of the Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne. He has exhibited at a number of international and local arts spaces including The Institute of Contemporary Arts and Changi Village 64 + 4 Hawker Centre (Singapore); Pony Royal and Artconnect Headquarters (Berlin); MILS Gallery (Sydney); Fort Delta, c3 Contemporary Art Space, No Vacancy Gallery, Lindberg Contemporary, and the Margaret Lawrence Gallery (Melbourne). In 2016 he was awarded a New Colombo Plan Scholarship to study Painting at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. 

Nabilah Nordin holds a Master of Contemporary Art from the Victorian College of the Arts and a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) from RMIT University. She has previously exhibited at Fort Delta in both solo and group exhibition capacities with her 2014 solo project Under One Roof at the gallery and her collaboration with Nick Modrzewski in the group exhibition the smell of an oily rag in 2015. Last year in collaboration with Nick Modrzewski, she presented Chicken Shop at Singapore’s Changi Village 64 + 4 Hawker Centre. Since completing postgraduate studies in 2015, Nordin has held solo and group exhibitions in Melbourne at Chapter House Lane, c3 Contemporary Artspace, Incinerator Gallery, CAVES off-site, Fort Delta, Kew Court House and most recently was invited by the Institute of Contemporary Arts to participate in an affiliate project of the Singapore Biennale.
