The body is a house inside a bigger house - Nabilah Nordin
Under One Roof consists of a series of sculptures that survey the familial construct. Each sculptural piece is representative of how we connect with each other in a given space.
Found objects are assembled and arranged to create layers of depth and blur the boundaries between inside and outside, self and other.
Nabilah Nordin is an installation artist working with diverse recycled materials. Her highly coloured, large-scale works refer abstractly to the human body and architectural forms that play with ideas of interiority and exteriority.
Employing an intuitive process of assemblage, Nabilah exploits the tactility of diverse forms and found materials to imagine a wide range of physical and psychological spaces.
